To book wheelchair space in the venues, please inform the Box Office staff when booking your tickets (when booking online, please specify your requirements using the 'Notes' box at checkout), we will make sure a suitable place is reserved for you.
There is a limited amount of disabled parking in the main car park in Hay - which is located on Oxford Road, Hay-on-Wye, HR3 5EQ
Disabled access toilets are available at Hay Castle.
The Castle Marquee and St Mary's Church are fitted with an induction loop. Sometimes this system can be skewed by the aluminium structures of our tents. Our stewards will be on hand to help you find the best place to sit. With notice we are able to provide BSL interpretation of an event. Please inform us by October 31 if this is something that you require. After this date we will do our best to find a BSL interpreter for an event but may not find a suitable person at short notice.
Streamed events are live captioned. Captions are also available on Hay Festival Anytime for events from 2022 onwards.
The Hay Festival are excited to be able to offer the Listen EVERYWHERE Assistive Listening System in the Castle Marquee at the Hay Festival Winter Weekend.
LISTEN EVERYWHERE is a wireless system that uses the listeners own smart device, to improve the listening experience of live events by sending audio directly to headphones, hearing aids, or cochlear implants of our audience without amplifying ambient noise.
If you would like to use your own smart mobile device and headphones, audio of the event is available to stream straight to your iPhone or Android Device. Simply connect to our venue Wi-Fi network and download the "Listen EVERYWHERE" app. Open the app in the venue and connect.
Wired earbuds or headphones are strongly recommended to ensure a reliable audio connection.

Please let us know if you'd like to avoid queuing, we can reserve a seat to suit you in the venue. Or if there is anything else we can do to make your visit great, email accessibility@hayfestival.com.

Hay Festival is committed to removing barriers for all, regardless of your disability. Assistance and/or guide dogs are allowed onto the Festival site. If you wish to attend with an assistance and/or a guide dog, you are welcome to either:
(a) Inform the staff at the entrance of the Festival that you wish to enter with your assistance and/or guide dog on your day(s) of attendance; or
(b) Notify the Festival that you will be attending with your animal in advance by contacting the Box Office by email to: accessibility@hayfestival.com
If your assistance and/or guide dog is not immediately identifiable by an appropriate coat, harness, identification tag or any other means, Hay Festival retains the right to ask you to complete a self-certification form confirming that your animal is an assistance and/or guide dog and is highly trained for these purposes.
You will have sole responsibility for the behaviour and well-being of your assistance and/or guide dog. Hay Festival reserves the right to remove or bar entry to any animal when it is exhibiting poor behaviour and/or poses a threat to the health & safety of others.
Unfortunately, only assistance and/or guide dogs are allowed on the Festival site, so regrettably you will not be able to attend with an emotional support animal.
