Planet Assembly at Hay Festival

Time is running out. Planet Assembly pioneers the use of civic space and engagement in exploring dynamic solutions to regenerate the planet.

Planet Assembly

Hay Festival 2023 launched Planet Assembly, a series of solutions-focused workshops exploring the dramatic policy transformations that are needed to tackle the acute climate and biodiversity emergencies, exploring the core topics including energy, health, food, mobility, water, fashion, biodiversity and where and how we live.

The time to act is now. Let's write a new story for the future of our planet.

We have the opportunity to create a world of different outcomes for the natural world.

Let’s use the power of the Hay Festival community to slow and reverse the impact of climate change and habitat loss - mobilising for the future.

We’ve brought together some of the leading organisers and experts in sustainable action to mobilise a movement for change.

Whether you are interested in changing your approach to reducing waste, sustainable food, sustainable transport, habitat improvement or sustainable energy, we can signpost you to a programme that will really make a difference. Giving you the skills, support and inspiration to change the world. Together.

Hosted by sustainability entrepreneur Andy Middleton and special guests we Our Planet Assemblies have articulated that we simply can't wait for governments and businesses to lead the way. We are the people that we're waiting for.

We’re covering some of the best green thinking coming out of Hay Festival each day, responding to the climate and nature emergencies. We’ll bring you highlights from our Planet Assemblies and other sessions, sharing ideas about how we can mobilise — individually and collectively — for a better future.
