The Settlers

Venue: Centro Cultural Peruano Norteamericano (auditorio)
Felipe Gálvez (Chile) is, together with Antonia Girardi, one of the creators of Los colonos, a film that captures the brutality of colonisation and its lasting impact on Chilean identity, set in early 20th-century Patagonia. The film can be seen as part of the festival programme. At this event, the film’s director and screenwriter, Gálvez, will talk with the BBC journalist Alejandro Millán about how he has captured, with a striking visual style, such a profound narrative and complex characters, questioning the official versions of history; it invites us to reflect on the question of injustice and oppression in order to understand the past and its importance in Chilean society.
Price: S/10.00 (PEN)
