Felipe Gálvez (Chile, 1983) is a director, screenwriter and film editor based in Paris. His first film, The Settlers (2023), had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival as part of the official section Un Certain Regard, where it won the FIPRESCI Award for Best Film at the event. The film was chosen by the Chilean Film Academy to represent the country at the 2024 Oscars in the category of Best International Film. The Settlers also participated in the Toronto, San Sebastian, Tokyo and New York festivals, among others, winning numerous awards along the way.
