The state of democracy in Latin America

Democracia and Latinoamérica Hoy is a project that seeks to creates spaces for reflection and dialogue regarding the challenges and opportunities in Latin American countries in terms of democracy and building more inclusive, participative and representative political systems. The panel of experts, which come from across the political spectrum, is: Humberto de la Calle (Colombia), Minister of the Government during the César Gaviria presidency, Vice-president of the Republic and in 2012 appointed Chief Negotiator of the government’s delegation for the peace process with FARC; and Carmen McEvoy, expert in Latin American history, author of the books La república agrietada, Homo politicus and Patrias andinas, patrias citadinas, among others, and the first Peruvian ambassador to Ireland. They will talk to Salvador del Solar.
