Peru is a country of migrants and immigrants. The social and cultural fabric is a mixture of cultures and experiences of geographical displacement, both inside and outside the country. We talk to the acclaimed Peruvian writer Eduardo Tokeshi, a poet, fiction writer and visual artist, and also a grandson of Japanese immigrants, about his recently published Sanzu. This is an illustrated work that explores the author’s roots, revealing his facets both as writer and as illustrator through the power of his words and artwork.
