One Spain’s most brilliant contemporary writers, Javier Cercas established his name with the publishing phenomenon Soldiers of Salamis, which immediately became one of the most important novels about the Spanish Civil War. In others, such as Anatomy of a Moment about the failed coup of February 23, 1981, and The impostor, Cercas has continued to explore some of the darker episodes of the 20th century. He will be taking part in the Taller de Sueños initiative at this edition of the Hay Festival. He talks with journalist and writer Jesús Ruiz Mantilla.
