Hay Festival Forum Dallas 2024 programme offers a world of different ideas, 11–13 October
Hay Festival has announced the line-up for Hay Festival Forum Dallas 2024 in Texas with 25 artists taking part in 21 events, 11–13 October.

Confirmed guests include award-winning novelists Viet Thanh Nguyen, Valeria Luiselli, Mircea Cărtărescu, Mariana Enriquez and Booker Prize-winner Douglas Stuart; Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists Tolu Olorunnipa and Robert Samuels; writer John Valliant; screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga; Roxy Music’s Phil Manzanera; linguist Yasnaya Elena Aguilar; journalist Jim Schutze; activist Dahlia de la Cerda; and poet Natalia Toledo; plus music from Colombian DJ Elkin with Mexican performer El Nick.

Having tripled its capacity for its seventh edition with new venue partnerships, this will be the largest and most inclusive Forum yet, offering big stage conversations, workshops and book clubs in venues across the Texan city, including The Texas Theatre, Whose Books, Oak Cliff Assembly, and The Wild Detectives bookstore bar. 

The bilingual programme promises a world of different perspectives, celebrating the power of storytelling and impact of indigenous languages, while bridging the North/South border with local writing stars and headline names from further afield. 

Hay Festival, one of the world’s leading cultural charities, was founded in Hay-on-Wye, Wales in 1987, providing audiences with dynamic platforms to come together to share ideas, different perspectives and provoke conversations that can create a better world. 

Expansion of the Dallas event is the latest chapter of Hay Festival’s global projects, forging creative connections across four continents with year-round events, partnerships and far-reaching education programmes.

Since its foundation in 2018, six editions of Hay Festival Forum Dallas have taken place, featuring guests including Alma Guillermoprieto, Jon Lee Anderson, Hernan Diaz, Michelle Tea, Pilar Quintana, Ben Fountain, Emiliano Monge, Juan Cardenas, Dolores Reyes, and many more.
