He studied Philosophy and Letters, specialising in Literature, at the Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá. He studied on the Publishing postgraduate programme at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. Former Assistant Manager for Promotion and Management, he was responsible on a number of occasions for the Colombian National Tourism Corporation, with which he was linked for over ten years. He was an Editor at the company Op Gráficas and managed their child and young adult literature collection. Editor for eight years at El Sello Editorial, a company dedicated to large illustrated books (on subjects such as art, heritage, ecology and architecture). Editorial Director of the Convenio Andrés Bello for six years, where he coordinated the publishing of a large group of titles in the areas of science and technology, education and culture. He is currently the CEO of Maremágnum Editorial, an independent publisher and consultancy, where he runs company projects, as well as those for different institutions, museums and cultural foundations. He has been an editor for collections of Afro-Colombian literature, indigenous literature and traditional Colombian cookery, all projects run by the Ministry of Culture with over forty titles. Advisor to the National Library of Colombia for a collection of essential Colombian culture titles, a digital fund that is in the process of being created. He has written La palabra y el fuego, a book about the life and work of the great food expert, Lácydes Moreno Blanco, and different introductions and articles for academic journals and newspapers. He lectures on matters related to publishing and culture.
