Francesco Manetto studied Philosophy and Literature in Bologna (Italy), Photojournalism in Barcelona and in 2006 started work at El País after taking the newspaper’s Master’s degree in Journalism. Working in Madrid, he was responsible for national political news and, from 2017, as the correspondent for the Andean Region he has covered post-conflict Colombia and the Venezuelan crisis. He currently coordinates the El País newsroom in Mexico City.
