Catalina González Restrepo (Medellin, Colombia, 1976) is a graduate in Spanish and Literature from Antioquia University, with a Master’s in Literature from the Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá. Since 1995 she has worked in various positions in the world of publishing, including in the areas of academia (University of Antioquia), business (Intermedio Editores) and government (Fondo de Cultura Económica) as well as independent publishing. She is currently a manager at Luna Libros, a Colombian independent publisher where she has worked since its foundation in 2008. She participated in the creation of La Diligencia Libros, an independent distributor in Colombia that has been running since mid-2013, along with Laguna Libros and La Silueta Ediciones. She was Coordinator of the Committee of Independent Publishers at the Cámara Colombiana del Libro from 2013 to 2014 and has recently taken up the post once again. In 2004 she was nominated for the Young International Publisher prize given by the British Council in Bogota and in 2010 she received the 4th Florita Gómez Morata Prize for the best publishing proposal as part of the 10th Ibero-American Publishers’ Training Course (Sociedad Iberoamericana de Amigos del Libro y la Edición, Carolina Foundation, Madrid’s Complutense University, the Menéndez Pelayo International University, Spain). She has published Afán de fuga (Editorial Universidad de Antioquia, 2002), Seis cancioncillas (de agua salada) y otros poemas (Colección Viernes de Poesía, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, 2005), La última batalla (Pre-Textos, 2010), Una palabra brilla en mitad de la noche (Universidad Externado de Colombia, 2012) and Dos veces extranjeros (Pre-Textos, 2019). Her poems have appeared in Colombian and foreign magazines and anthologies and have been translated into French, Portuguese, Italian, English and Arabic.
