Octavio Escobar Giraldo became known with the novels El último diario de Tony Flowers (1995) and Saide (1995, Crónica Negra Award, translated into Italian and German). With Después y antes de Dios (2014, translated into French) he won the 45 th Barbastro City International Short Novel Prize and the National Novel Prize. Two books of poetry: Historias clínicas (2016, National Prize for Unpublished Poetry) and Manual de Hipocondría (2021, Las Palmas International Poetry Prize). Recent novels: Cada oscura tumba (2022, Gijon Semana Negra shortlist) and Cassiani (2023).
