Gloria MENDOZA BORDA

Gloria Mendoza Borda (Puno - 1948) has published several poetry books. Her work has been translated into Italian, German, English, Aymara, Portuguese and Rumanian. On 15 December 2015 the Peruvian Congress recognized her contribution to the nation’s poetry. She has been offered official invites to other countries, including Uruguay, Bolivia, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Buenos Aires and Chile. As a cultural promoter, she has been running the Alianza Francesa’s Literary Tuesdays in Arequipa for over 10 years. In May 2017 the Peruvian State, represented by the Minister of Culture, Salvador del Solar, distinguished her with a Gold Medal and certificate declaring her to be an Important Contributor to Peruvian Culture. In August 2017 the Arequipa Provincial Government awarded her a Gold Medal for Culture.
