Born in Arequipa in 1958. He has been working in journalism for over 40 years, since 1980, as an editor of supplements for the newspapers Correo and Expreso. In the last 15 years he has dedicated much time to investigative journalism and writing. In 2010 he published the book Trazos y Risas, los caricaturistas Arequipeños, and, three years later, Los acuarelistas arequipeños 1840-1940 (GRA/Cuzzi Editores). In 2016 he published the book La Pinacoteca del Museo Municipal de Arequipa – Guillermo Zegarra Meneses (Caja Arequipa). He writes a regular opinion column for Correo. His latest book is Hemingway desconocido (Penguin Random House), four new pieces of non-fiction about the writer in Peru and the world. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Quevedo Institute of the Arts of Humor of the Alcalá de Henares University.
