Denise Maerker Salmón is a Mexican journalist who works for radio, television and the press. She has also worked in academia. She was the host of the Punto de Partida news programme until June 2016 and she currently hosts the nightly newscast En Punto con Denise Maerker, both of which are Noticieros Televisa productions. She is a member of the board of directors of Televisa S.A.B. From a very young age Maerker has been interested in the world of politics. She completed her studies in Economic and Social Sciences at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, and did a Master's in Politics and a Doctorate in Comparative Politics at the Sorbonne in Paris.
