Teresa RUIZ-ROSAS

ruiz-rosas-teresa Born in Arequipa, she studied philology and translation in Budapest, Barcelona and Freiburg. El copista was a finalist for the 1994 Herralde Novel Prize and the Tigre Juan Prize. Detrás de la Calle Toledo was awarded the Juan Rulfo Short Story Prize in Paris (1999). Nada que declarar (Nothing to Declare) is MH of the Copé Novel Biennial 2012. She won the National Literature Prize in 2020 for her latest novel, Estación Delirio, and PRH has just re-published her second, La falaz posteridad. Translated into German, Dutch, English, Italian, French and Dutch. She has translated W.G. Sebald, S. Morgenstern, F. Werfel, S. Zweig, F. Wander, B. Strauss, R. Ausländer, J. Koepcke (d. German), M. Füst and A. Forgách (d. Hungarian), N. Shakespeare (d. English), and 18 poets for Transversal, Poesía alemana del siglo XXI (2022).
