Francesca DENEGRI

denegri-francesca Received a doctorate in Hispanic Studies from King's College, University of London. She lectured with the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies at University College London, and currently works in the Department of Humanities of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, supervises the Master’s in Hispano-American Literature, and coordinates the RIEL XIX Interdisciplinary Network of 19th-century Latin American Studies research group. She has been a visiting lecturer at UCLA’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese and at Bonn University’s Department of Romance Languages and Literatures. She has spoken at the University of Delhi, Jawarhalal Nehru University, Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn University, the University of Chile, the Alberto Hurtado University, Barcelona University, Davis University, Glasgow University, and others. She has published El abanico y la cigarrera, la primera generación de ilustradas en el Perú (IEP/Flora Tristán, 1995 and 2000, and Ceques Editores, 2018); Soy Señora. Testimonio de Irene Jara (Flora Tristán, 2000); Dando cuenta, Estudios sobre el testimonio de la violencia política en el Perú (1980-2000) (co-editor with A. Hibbett. Fondo Editorial PUCP, 2016), and is in the process of publishing Razones del corazón. La política cultural de las emociones en el Perú posbélico (Fondo Editorial PUCP, 2018) and the third volume of Historia de las Literaturas Peruanas (Casa de la Literatura Peruana and FEPUCP). She has written columns for El Comercio and has presented the Antena 3 television programme En blanco y negro.
