Publisher, translator, researcher and educator in Mexico, Italia and Spain. This former editorial manager of the Grupo Planeta in Mexico (1997-2006) founded the first publishing Master’s in Latin America at the University of Guadalajara (1991-1997). Since 2009 he has been lecturing and researching at the Universidad Autónoma’s Academia de Creación Literaria in Mexico City. He is co-author of the book Cultura escrita, literatura e historia (FCE, Mexico 1999, translated into Portuguese by Artmed, São Paulo 2001, ISBN 968-16-6146-6 and 978-968-16-6146-5), and has contributed to various specialist and educational publications. In 2009/2010 he translated from the French and published with the University of Antioquia (Medellin, Colombia) the Roger Chartier text El libro y sus poderes (Siglos XV-XVIII) ISBN 978-958-714-271-6; and his own work entitled Editar en la universidad. Paradojas y retos (2010). He has organized and given professional training courses for publishers and booksellers in Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Guatemala. In 2011 he was one of the 25 publishers distinguished for having participated at the Guadalajara FIL every year since 1987.
