Patricia Nieto is a Colombian journalist, publisher and educator. She is the author of El sudor de tu frente (1998), Llanto en el Paraíso (2008), Relatos de una cierta mirada (2012), Los escogidos (2012), Nunca olvidé tu nombre (2005), El Cielo no me abandona and Donde pisé aún crece la hierba. She runs the Hacemos Memoria project, dedicated to studying and reconstructing narratives around the armed conflict. She also manages the University of Antioquia Press. She has received, among others, the José Martí Latin American Journalism Award from the Prensa Latina Agency (1992), the Simón Bolívar National Journalism Award (1996), the National Culture Award from the University of Antioquia (2008), the Bogota Journalists’ Circle Award (2013), the Writer-Journalist Award given by the Antioquia Journalists’ Circle (2015) and the Media Award from the Latin American Studies Association (2019). Her most recent book, Crónicas del paraíso (2022), covers over thirty years of reporting on the war in Colombia.
