(Kenya) Binyavanga Wainaina is the founding editor of the literary magazine Kwani? and won the Caine Prize for African Writing in 2002. He is the author of, among other works, One Day I Will Write about this Place and How to Write about Africa. His writing has appeared in the The New York Times, The Guardian, Granta, National Geographic and elsewhere. A former director of the Chinua Achebe Center for African Writers and Artists at Bard College, he lives in Nairobi, Kenya.
