(Colombia) Journalism graduate from the Universidad Javeriana, writer of child and young adult literature, and promoter of reading and writing. For more than twenty years she was an independent correspondent in Colombia for the Spanish newspaper El País. Her knowledge of the country has motivated her to tell children and young people the good, the bad, the beautiful and the ugly about Colombia through journalism and literature. Most of her 21 books are framed in this context. Three of her works address the theme of war: Crecimos en la Guerra, Historias de un país invisible and Era como mi sombra. The latter, a youth novel about the friendship of two children in a guerrilla group, was included on a list of best books by the Cuatrogatos Foundation in 2015 and on the White Ravens list in 2016. Among her best-known books are: La historia, los viajes y la abuela; Colombia, mi abuelo y yo; El violinista de los puentes colgantes; Los caminos del cielo; Así vivo yo: Travesía por un país olvidado; Socaire y el Capitán loco; La estrella que le perdió el miedo a la noche; Turbel, el viento que se disfrazó de brisa… She works in schools and libraries covering topics such as truth, memory and peace.
