(Madrid, 1967) This Spanish writer has been awarded major prizes such as the Ojo Crítico Fiction Prize (2001) and the 11th Vargas Llosa Prize. She was shortlisted for the 2006 Nadal Prize and longlisted for the 2009 Herralde Prize. Apart from her work as a novelist, she has also written short stories, poetry and essays, writing literary criticism for different media, teaching at the Antonio de Nebrija University in Madrid and editing the literary magazine Ni hablar. She has contributed to the newspapers El País, Público and El Mundo's magazine El Cultural. She has published many works, including: Los mejores tiempos (2001), Susana y los viejos (2006), La lección de Anatomía (2008), Daniela Astor y la caja negra (2013) and her last novel Farándula (Herralde Prize 2015).
