Director and founder of the Centro Latinoamericano de Investigación Periodística, CLIP, with more than 20 investigations carried out in collaboration with 82 media outlets in various Latin American countries, including El Negocio de la Represión, Carbono Gris and Migrantes de Otro Mundo, which resulted in the book of the same name (Aguilar, 2021). She is the author of Cinco en Humor (Aguilar, 2007) and the bestseller Guerras Recicladas (Aguilar, 2014), and for her career as an investigative editor and digital media entrepreneur (Votebien.com and VerdadAbierta.com) she won the Maria Moors Cabot (2007) and Simón Bolívar- Vida y Obra (2021) awards. She is a teacher at the Gabo Foundation and an activist for freedom of expression through various international organisations.
