(Zgharta, Lebanon, 1949) Jabbour Douaihy has a doctorate in Comparative Literature from the New Sorbonne University and is currently lecturing on French literature at the University of Lebanon. He has published a number of novels, Moderation of Autumn (1998), and June Rain (2006), for which he was nominated for the IPAF (the “Arabic Booker”). He has published the short story collection Death Among Family Sleepiness (1990), and a short story in French (Spirit of the Jungle, 2001) which won him the French San Akzuberi Prize.
