Maya Jaggi is an award-winning cultural journalist, writer critic and artistic director in London who has reported on culture from five continents and interviewed 14 Nobel prizewinners in literature. She writes for the
Financial Times Arts pages and the
New York Review of Books. She was a profile writer and fiction critic.for
The Guardian Review for 15 years and won several awards for her cover stories in
Guardian Weekend magazine. Educated at Oxford University and the London School of Economics, she was awarded an honorary doctorate by the UK's Open University for ‘extending the map of international writing’, and has been an Arts & Media Fellow in Berlin, an EU-Eastern Partnership Senior Expert in Cultural Journalism, and a judge of many literary awards.
