Nubia Macías is a Mexican sociologist, journalist, university professor and cultural manager. As a journalist, she worked for
El País and the
Público newspaper from Guadalajara; she also worked as a correspondent in Europe for Grupo Radio Centro México, the Mexican Radio Institute and the newspaper
El Financiero. For 18 years she was part of the organising team of the Guadalajara International Book Fair, ten of which she was its general director. For four years (2013-2017), Macías directed the Planeta publishing group for Mexico, U.S.A. and Central America. She is a professor of the Master in Cultural Management and Development at the University of Guadalajara and director and founder of the NM consultora, a company dedicated to the design, planning, training and production of cultural projects.
