Guillermo FADANELLI

fadanelli-guillermo (Ciudad de México, 1963) A Mexican writer, editor and video producer. His books contain different types of narrative from novels, essays, and chronicles to aphorism and some stories. In 1989 he and Naief Yehya published a manifesto on junk literature in the magazine La Pus Moderna. Along with other Spanish artists Fadanelli founded the Movimiento Cerebrista (1991) with Madrid as place for the headquarters where he published his first book Cuentos mejicanos. Back in México he created Moho, an underground, Dadaist, close to the “dirty realismo” magazine. In 1995 came Editorial Moho, on which he could publish a series of stories under the pseudonym Peggy López. In 1998, he received the Premio Impac-Conarte-ITESM and the Premio Nacional de Literatura for his novel La otra cara de Rock Hudson and later in 2002 he was granted the Premio Nacional de Narrativa Colima for his book Lodo which also was a finalist for the Rómulo Gallegos Prize. His work includes, as far as novels go: Mis mujeres muertas, Al final del periférico. Essays: Meditaciones desde el subsuelo, Elogio a la vagancia. Sotires: El día que la vea la voy a matar; Mariana Constrictor. Cronicles: El billar de los suizos. His books have been translated to several languages. His latest book is Hotel DF (2011). He currently publishes a column in El Universal newspaper, on Mondays.
