José Zuleta Ortiz was born in Bogotá in 1960 and has lived in Cali since 1969. He has won several national poetry and short story awards, including the National Literature Prize from the Ministry of Culture in 2009 for the book of short stories Ladrón de olvidos. He has published five books of short stories, four books of poetry and a book of literary portraits. He is the author of the novels Lo que no fue dicho, with which he won the National Literature Prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture for a novel published in 2022, and Una versión de los hechos 2024, published by Seix Barral.
