Jorge Ramos is a Mexican journalist and immigrant living in the United States. He has travelled around the world covering the most important news of our times and interviewing the people who make history. He has been a columnist for about four decades. He has several Emmys for his work on the Univision network, and is the winner of the Maria Moors Cabot and Gabriel García Márquez awards for Excellence in Journalism. Time magazine listed him as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Through television and his social networks (@jorgeramosnews), his reports, columns and interviews reach millions of people. He has published a dozen books in English and Spanish on migration, wars, the lives of Latinos in the United States, as well as about his interviewees. He defends the rights of immigrants and the theory that journalists should be a counterpower, and not neutral. He lives in Miami, says he is a frustrated tennis player and continues to play football on Saturday mornings.
