Álex Grijelmo (Burgos, 1956) holds a PhD in Journalism from the Complutense University and a PADE (Business Management) from the IESE Business School. He was associated with the management teams of El País and Prisa from 1983 to 2022, except when he chaired Efe (2004-2012), a period when he created Fundéu. He has published fifteen books on language and communication, some of them used in Journalism and Philology faculties at universities in Spain and the Americas. His latest work is La perversión del anonimato (Taurus, 2024). He currently teaches at the UAM-El País School of Journalism and publishes a weekly column in the cultural supplement of that newspaper. In 2019 he received the Castile and Leon Humanities Award, and is a corresponding member of the Colombian Academy of the Language.
