Graduate in History from the National University of San Agustín, Master’s in History from the Catholic University of San Pablo. Lecturer and researcher at both universities. He is the author of the book Reformas económicas y privilegios comerciales. Los Cinco Gremios Mayores de Madrid, 1790-1820 (UCSP, 2014) and the co-author of Historia Mínima de Arequipa. Desde los primeros pobladores hasta el presente (IEP, 2018). He has also published numerous articles in local, national and international journals related to the economic history of Arequipa between the 18th and 19th centuries. He has completed various studies on the economy and society in Arequipa during the War of Independence, 1818-1825, the operation of the Port of Santa Rosa de Islay, 1827-1879 and on the governmental work of Simón Bolívar in Arequipa, 1823-1827. He is currently researching production, supply and consumption in Arequipa between 1818 and 1825.
