Norka Bedregal-Alpaca is a mathematician by profession and works as a Senior Lecturer at the National University of San AgustÃn in Arequipa (UNSA-Peru), where she has had a long career in the fields of education and research. She holds a degree in Mathematics, a Master's degree in Mathematics and another in Systems Analysis, and a PhD in Educational Sciences. In addition, she has completed PhD studies in Computing Science. Throughout her career, she has been a pioneer in several roles within UNSA, including being the first woman graduate of the Professional School of Mathematics, the first woman Head of the Academic Department of Systems Engineering and Computing, as well as Head of the Professional School of Systems Engineering, and of the University Directorate of Information Technology. She has dedicated much of her research work to exploring and developing new methodologies for teaching mathematics, with the purpose of encouraging reflection on what has been learned through interactive and multidirectional teaching-learning processes, promoting the development of skills that allow students to apply what they have learned in class in their professional and personal lives. Since 2017, her research has focused on the integration of ICTs in educational processes, the analysis of admission and performance systems at the university, and the improvement of teaching quality through educational data mining. In addition to her academic and research contributions, she is recognized for her ability to lead and manage educational projects, having contributed to the institutional development of UNSA and the advancement of higher education in Peru. Her commitment to educational excellence and innovative vision continue to inspire colleagues and students alike.
