Juan Luis OSSA

ossa-juan-luis Researcher at the CEP since 2019. He was Executive Director of the Centre for Political History Studies (UAI) between 2011 and 2018, and is currently a lecturer with the Political Processes and Institutions doctorate at the same university. He has published in different specialized journals, such as Journal of Latin American Studies, Anuario de Estudios Americanos, Bulletin of Latin American Research, Revista de Indias, Prismas. Revista de Historia Intelectual, Co-Herencia. Revista de Humanidades, and Parliaments, Estates and Representation. His book Armies, politics and revolution. Chile, 1808-1826 was published by Liverpool University Press (2014). In 2017, together with Iván Jaksic, he edited volume 1 of the Historia Política de Chile, 1810-2010 (Fondo de Cultura Económica). In 2020, his book Chile Constitucional (Fondo de Cultura Económica) was published. He is currently writing a book covering the political and intellectual history of 1820s Chile. He holds a degree in History from the Catholic University of Chile and a PhD in Modern History from St Antony's College, University of Oxford.
