Historian and archivist. Magally Alegre Henderson directs the Historical Archive of the Riva-Aguero Institute, the most important private archive in the country. She lectures in History at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. Her research and teaching specialize in the history of sexuality, gender, professional ethics, and digital humanities. Her first book, Relecturas del Fracaso. Comunidades, género y raza en perspectiva histórica (Fondo Editorial PUCP, 2024), is one of the results of the European project FAILURE: Reversing the Genealogies of Unsuccess, 16th-19th Centuries (H2020 MSCA GA 823998). In addition, she works intensively to rescue archives in danger, as principal researcher on the Peruvian Legacy project (EAP1495) and representative for Latin America of the Endangered Archives Programme of the British Library (EAP), which finances the digitalization of documentary heritage threatened with destruction.
