Writer, journalist and screenwriter, Pablo Vierci was born in Montevideo on the 7th of July, 1950. Throughout his career he has written scripts for both documentaries and feature films. He has also participated as a panellist on programmes such as Debate Abierto on Channel 10. In the literary field he has written Los tornoyistas -published in 1979 and translated into Portuguese and English-, Pequeña historia de una mujer, Detrás de los árboles, 99% asesinado, Society of the Snow and El fin de la inocencia, among others. He has also co-written I Had to Survive with Roberto Canessa, in which the latter tells how his vocation for medicine was born. Vierci has been recognized with awards such as the National Literature Prize of Uruguay in 1987 and 2004, and the Golden Book Award given by the Cámara Uruguaya del Libro in 2009. He has also won several awards with his work as a screenwriter.
