With more than a year and a half of activity on the TikTok social network, Waldir has built up a huge community of followers. The tools he uses, unusual for people from an urban environment, together with his cheerful personality have managed to position him as a popular influencer. This is a brief look at his early days, his relationship with the countryside, his reflections on agriculture and his personal dreams. Waldir Maqque (aged 25) grew up in the community of Viacha (altitude 3794 m), located in the district of Pisac, Calca province, in the region of Cusco. From a young age he learned field work: taking care of his animals and growing his own food. When he finished school, he migrated to the city to pursue higher education. There, he decided to study gastronomy at the Instituto Latino de Cusco. At the same time, a friend was teaching him how to use social media when the pandemic hit.
