Martín Jacinto Meza, Atzacoaloya, Chilapa, Guerrero, Mexico, 1983. Graduate in Latin American Literature with a Master’s in Indo-American Linguistics. He is a farmer, poet, translator, speaker, columnist and was Municipal Commissioner (a traditional authority of his community) in 2023. His poems have been included in several anthologies and published in magazines in Mexico and abroad. He was coordinator of the Círculo de Poesía’s Xochitlajtoli poetry series in native languages and presented the Código 21 radio programme Ombligo de Tierra in Mexico City; he is a member of the Gusanos de la Memoria collective. He is currently part of the FONCA National System of Artists and is author of the books: Tlalkatsajtsilistle ‘Ritual de los olvidados’ (Jaguar Ediciones, 2016), Nosentlalilxochitlajtol ‘Antología personal’ (Asociación Escritores de México, 2017), Istitsin ueyeatsintle / Uña mar (Cisnegro, 2019) and a book of children's literature entitled: Malintsin (Alas y roots, 2022). He coordinated the poetry books: Xochitlajtoli/ Poesía contemporánea en lenguas originarias de México (Círculo de Poesía, 2019), Flor de siete pétalos (Ediciones del Espejo Somos, 2019), In xochitl in kuikatl: 24 poetas contemporáneos en lengua náhuatl Vol. I (UDLAP, 2020), Konetlajtoltin / La palabra de los niños (Ícaro Ediciones, 2024), and a book of Nahuatl grammar: Amatlayekanke ika totlajtol mexikano/ Manual básico de lengua náhuatl (Ícaro Ediciones, 2024).
