He has a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the Autonomous University of Queretaro and is a PhD candidate in Engineering at the Slovak University of Technology (STU). Since 2012 he has worked as a lecturer on the Civil Engineering programme in the Structural Engineering department at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Queretaro Campus. Among the main distinctions he has received have been the recognition for academic excellence granted in 2009 by the National Association of Faculties and Schools of Engineering and the 2020 Inspirational Lecturer award, the 2023 Dejando Huella award and his recent entry into the Circle of Outstanding Lecturers at the Tecnológico de Monterrey. He currently directs the Department of Sustainable Technologies and Civil Engineering and the National Civionics Laboratory at the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Queretaro.
