Margarita AGUILAR URBÁN

​​Originally from Atizapán de Zaragoza, Mexico. She is an independent researcher and poet. She has been a professor of language and literature at different universities in the country and has published articles on art and literature in academic journals. Author of Como estación de tren (Praxis-Dos Filos, 1988) and Modesta, la de manos de paloma (Medusa Editores, 2023). She is one of the authors who features in the anthology in honour of William Carlos Williams, Hay algo, algo urgente que te tengo que decir (Medusa Editores, 2022). She has written two collections of poems for children: Algodón en el corazón (Instituto Chihuahuense de la Cultura, 2012) and Testudina descubre el horizonte (e-book, Bitácora de vuelos ediciones, 2021). She compiled and prefaced the memoirs of the Tarahumara artist Erasmo Palma in the book Donde cantan los pájaros chuyacos (1992, reissued in 2015, translation into Rarámuri 2018). Her work Aurora Reyes. Alma de montaña, (biography and essay) published by the Instituto Chihuahuense de la Cultura, was considered the best book of 2011 by the literary criticism site Salón de Letras.
