Mexican author, designer, illustrator, musician, dancer and filmmaker, considered by Forbes to be one of the world’s 100 most creative Mexicans. In 2012, he made El trompetista, a multi-award-winning film, with the support of the Mexican Institute of Cinematography. In 2014 he produced and directed Amicus, with the support of independent producers from Canal 22, and in 2016, he directed Las piezas del rompecabezas, the first original short film by Canal Once. In 2018 he won the Ciclic residency and was made Folimage artist-in-residence at the Annecy festival to produce his short film, El tigre sin rayas, which has toured the world, showing at more than 120 festivals in over 40 countries, and was nominated at the 2021 Oscars for Best Animated Short Film. In 2021-22 he directed and wrote Agua, an animated short film produced by Diego Luna and Jorge Gutiérrez with El Día Después. He is a member of the evaluation committee of the Children's Short Film category of the competition run by the Colombian Fund for Cinematographic Development 2022, in addition to serving on panels for children's and animated film categories at numerous international film festivals.
