Director of the Guadalajara International Book Fair for ten years. Marisol Schulz Manaut is a publisher, commentator, speaker, cultural journalist and expert on the literary and publishing world. She has received multiple accolades and recognitions for her career and for promoting reading, as well as for her commitment to the future of books and Spanish. Since her career began, she has been responsible for publishing over 1,500 publications, as well as creating collections, libraries and series of various kinds. In 2011 she was behind the creation of LĂ©aLA, the Spanish-language Book Fair and Literary Festival of Los Angeles, for the dissemination and promotion of books and reading in Spanish in the United States. In 2013, the Mexican edition of Forbes magazine listed her as one of the 50 most powerful women in Mexico. In 2016 and 2020, Quien magazine named her one of the 50 People who Move Mexico. In 2020, the Guadalajara Book Fair, under her management, was given the prestigious Princess of Asturias Award in the area of Communication and Humanities, together with the Hay Festival. In 2021 she was awarded the Juan Pablos National Award for Publishing Merit, a professional recognition for her dedication to the dissemination of culture.
