William NEUMAN

neuman-william William Neuman was chief correspondent for the New York Times in the Andean region from 2012 to 2016. His book, Things Are Never So Bad That They Can't Get Worse: Inside the Collapse of Venezuela (2022), won the Cornelius Ryan Award for best non-fiction book, awarded by the Overseas Press Club of America. The Spanish edition, Todo se puede poner peor: crónicas desde la crisis venezolana, was published in 2023. Neuman began his journalistic career in Mexico in the late 1980s. From there, he moved to New York, where he worked as a reporter at the New York Post and for more than 15 years at the New York Times. Neuman's journalism has also been published in The Atlantic, The Guardian, Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and The Independent, among others. Neuman has also translated several Spanish-language novels into English.
