Born in Mexico City of Tamaulipas origin, she is an Economist from the Autonomous Institute of Mexico (ITAM) with a thesis that won Second Place in the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare’s National Research Competition in 1999. She studied a Master's in Economics and Finance at the University of Essex, UK. She has extensive experience as a public servant, beginning her career in the department of the Undersecretary of Revenue of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, and worked at Bancomext for nearly ten years, six of them in the Netherlands and Belgium as a Commercial Advisor. In 2006 she was appointed Advisor to Mario Delgado, the Secretary of Finance of the Government of the Federal District. Given her international profile, in May 2008 she joined the Mixed Tourism Promotion Fund as General Manager. In 2011 she was appointed Secretary of Tourism Development of the State of Guerrero (SEFOTUR). In the private sector, she served during the period 2015-2018 as CEO for Mexico of the North American public relations agency, Mercury Public Affairs. In November 2018, she was made General Secretary by parliamentary vote, a position she holds today and from where she has promoted the professionalization of parliamentary officials and civil servants, as well as closing the gap between government and citizens through the creation of the Citizen Portal and the San Lázaro Cultural Space.
