Archaeologist with experience in scientific, terrestrial and underwater research, coordinating projects in Colombia and Panama. Cultural manager and disseminator of scientific knowledge through educational programmes associated with cultural heritage. Since 2015, he has been recognised as a Senior Researcher by MinCiencias. He received the Senior Latin American Scholar Award in 2016 from the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. He was director of the MAPUKA museum at the Universidad of the North, in Barranquilla, Colombia. He is currently an associate professor and coordinator of the archaeology laboratory at the same university.
