Nilda Meléndez Martínez. PhD in Law and Political Science, specialist in Labour Law and Social Security from La Sapienza University in Rome, Italy, and in Cultural Management from the University of the North. Social Manager with recognition from the Mayor's Office of Cartagena as a representative of the ethnic groups in political and social life and for her contribution to the rescue, conservation and dissemination of the best popular, civic and cultural traditions of Cartagena. She has received recognition as Mujer Bolívar 2007-2008, and the Mención de Honor Luis A. Robles a los afrocartageneros 2015 from the Museo Histórico de Cartagena de Indias. She is a permanent member of the School and Culture Commission of UNESCO and life queen of the Cabildo de Getsemaní.
