Silvia María Hoyos, a social communicator from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, is a journalist and documentary filmmaker. She studied writing for film, television and transmedia at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the International University of La Rioja. She has a long career in documentary production with international awards such as the Juan Rulfo Prize for television reports and is also the author of Los días del Dragón, a book that recounts her experience as a reporter during the so-called "narco-terrorist war" of the 1990s in Colombia. She is currently Director of Communications at Canal RCN.
