Mariana Sanchez-Aizcorbe is a journalist with more than 30 years of experience covering armed and social conflicts in Haiti, Afghanistan, Kosovo, East Timor, Colombia, Venezuela, Pakistan, Macedonia, Ethiopia, as well as the war against drug trafficking in Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador. She has worked as a journalist for Univision, Caretas Magazine, Radio Monitor, Radio France International, has been a correspondent for CNN en Español and is currently a correspondent for the international channel Al Jazeera since 2006 throughout the Latin American region.
