Gabriela Cabezón Cámara is the author of the novels Las niñas del naranjel (2023), The Adventures of China Iron (2020) and La Virgen Cabeza (2009); of the novellas Romance de la negra rubia (2014) and Le viste la cara a Dios (2011); of the graphic novels Y su despojo fue una muchedumbre (2015) and Beya (Le viste la cara a Dios) (2011) –illustrated by Iñaki Echeverría–; and of the short story collection Sacrificios (2015). She studied Literature at the UBA and in 2013 she was writer-in-residence at the University of California at Berkeley. Since then, she has coordinated writing workshops and clinics. She has worked as Editor of Clarín’s Cultura supplement, and currently practices journalism independently. She contributes to media outlets such as Crisis, Página/12, Fierro, the Eterna Cadencia blog and the magazine Anfibia. She was shortlisted for the 2020 International Man Booker Prize and the Medicis Prize with The Adventures of China Iron. Her work has been translated into more than ten languages.
