(San Sebastian, 1966). Currently living in Vitoria-Gasteiz, he is a writer, principally of short stories. His books include La isla de los antropólogos y otros relatos (Lengua de Trapo, 2002), Itzalak (Erein, 2004), Mentiras, mentiras, mentiras (Lengua de Trapo, 2006), Porvenir (Lengua de Trapo, 2007, Euskadi Literature Prize), Biodiscografías (Páginas de Espuma, 2015), Inon ez, inoiz ez (Elkar, 2014) and Como si todo hubiera pasado (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2018). He has also published novels, including Si Sabino viviría (Lengua de Trapo, 2005) and La patria de todos los vascos (Lengua de Trapo, 2009), as well as books of non-fiction, such as Ese idioma raro y poderoso (Lengua de Trapo, 2012, Euskadi Prize in the non-fiction category). His most recent published works have been the epistolary exchange Correspondencias, together with the Scottish writer James Robertson (Erein-Instituto Etxepare, 2019), and a novella, Una visita al Museo de Armería (Azala-Borradores del Futuro, 2020). He has been a part of the editing team of the literary magazine Volgako Batelariak.
