(Lima, 1974) Writer and Peruvian diplomat. Three times Minister of Culture, Director of the National Library of Peru, Director of the Ministry of Foreign Relations’ Inca Garcilaso Cultural Centre and Head of the Ministerial Office of Foreign Relations. He has also had diplomatic duties with Peru’s delegation to the United Nations in Geneva, and the Peruvian Embassy in Chile. His most recent publications are Traiciones peruanas (PRH, 2021) and the novel Mi monstruo sagrado, with which he won the 2019 Copé Prize. He also won the 4th Novella Prize given by the Cámara Peruana del Libro in 2012 with the novel CIA Perú, 1985. Una novela de espías; the Copé Silver Award for Short Fiction in 2012; and the 2018 Luces Prize given by El Comercio newspaper for his book of short stories, Biblioteca peruana.
